It said my order couldn't be found for a while as well, just takes a bit of time.

I was considering getting this again anyway, but the new pay-what-you-want price and the fact that it works on Linux makes it a must buy for me now. I'm even going to pay above retail because the game was that good.
What was the retail price for the PC version at launch? Edit: I see that it was "normally 20 USD," but was that the price at launch? |

Just donated 10$ for it. You people paying 0.01$ should feel ashamed.
The website crashed after my Paypal payment was accepted but I received a confirmation e-mail that everything went through. I'll wait for my download message. |

nice offer.
Paid 20 bucks on launch for it and now spent 5 bucks to get it again because I re-installed my system in the meantime and lost the mail of the first order somehow to download it again. And guess what I just found about 1 minute after I donated the extra money? the confirmation mail with the install link from last year. Well, no problem with it... great game, they deserve it. ![]() |

I still think the devs of World of Goo are drumming this up as promotion - again, they're probably even willing to just give this away for free for a week, but this approach is more novel. At least it guilt-trips people into paying something. |

Looks like they do. I wonder what the 'low fees' are? Still, 2DBoys must know what they are doing to go this route. |

It's a smart advertising ploy more than them trying to push the game, IMO. |

I paid 70$ for games in the past that I probably didn't enjoy as much as I will enjoy this game. 10$ is REALLY cheap to support a small respectable company like this. |

Lots of sites (like RedFlagDeals) hammering the site with 1 cent purchases. GTFO, you slime. Actually try to contribute something to a creative developer.

I dunno if I'd criticize people for doing minimum transactions.
Gamers are cheap people, tell them they can enjoy an incredible game for a cent and they will. At the very least, it proves this kind of model is unfeasible for this market. While a few (awesome) people will pay what they think it's worth, the rest of the people will see "OH MY GOD DEAL WITHOUT HAVING TO FEEL BAD FOR PIRATING IT" and pay as little as possible. Radiohead got away with it because they have hardcore fans and people see music as more of an artistic expression. To most gamers, it's a product, nothing more. I'd be super surprised if this honor-system style sale ever happens again. |

Thanks for spreading the word!". That said, a proper honour-system style could work, if you had a minimum pay - perhaps radio buttons with $5, $10 and $20 or something. Shareware is sort of a pay what you want, but normally gimp the free version, for example (like a boot up or ad version). I know it's not the same, but I pay money to remove ads, but given the opportunity to get something for dirt cheap (legitimately), I will take it. |

Does anyone know off the top of their head the difference between the profit 2dBoy get on the Wiiware version and that which they get on the (full-priced) PC version? I've already got it on Wiiware but I've half a mind to pay them the extra amount directly; it's worth it.
