September rumors from Kotaku suggested Christian Bale, but honestly i would definitely say Hugh Jackman (Wolverine X-Man, The Prestige, Scoop, Van Helsing and more...), it would be just perfect in Snake's role, take a look:

Hugh Jackman has the look and a sort of wildness that works, Christian Bale has the better acting chops and sounds more like David Hayter. But Christian Bale is too much of a pretty boy, so I say.
