I think a Kojima-sanctioned (and written) MG movie that follows a completely new Foxhound agent would be much cooler than a retread of a past game. It could reference past games, and intertwine with the stories of the other titles to add new information and insight, but could still stand on its own as a movie for those who never played the games.

Besides, I don't think any MG fan would ever be happy with a regular MGS movie, no matter how good it is.

Thanks for the most useless post I've ever seen in 5 years.

I've always said Hugh Jackman or Christian Bale.

There's a stuntwoman who I thought was perfect for The Boss...

PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON ( There will be Blood) IS INTERESTED TO DIRECTING THE MOVIE:

Kotaku writes:

Quote:
What about that Metal Gear Solid movie? Before the presser started, I talked to Konami's Aki Saito, who is handling the film negotiations. According to him, the contract is still being worked out. Kojima will not be directing. However, he will be acting as a producer. Says Saito:

Hollywood has great respect for Mr. Kojima. They want to meet with him. Kojima will be acting as a producer, but we don't know how involved he'll be as a producer. Often Hollywood adaptations have the original game creator involved at the beginning, but somewhere along the line they fall out of view. This is why it's very important for us to carefully pick the studio for this project.

Kojima is a great cineaste, and Konami does seem serious about bringing his vision to the screen. Regarding to potential directors, Saito says, "Paul Thomas Anderson is interested."

I think I would be happy with either of these three:

Eric Bana
Gerard Butler
Christian Bale
Will Smith

Not having Russel as Snake would suck. Hard.

Also, Michael Bay directs with Harry Gregson-Williams (sic?) doing the music. I'm totally serious. Michael Bay tends to make shit movies but he knows how to direct action. Just get him a decent writer and it's on!

I'd suggest Jim Cameron, but he doesn't seem to want to make movies anymore and the whole movie would be blue.

And Snake would be a woman.

If it's the Paul Thomas Anderson they're talking about, imagine he manages to rope in Daniel Day Lewis into it?

I don't give a crap who plays solid snake, as long as david hayter's voice is placed over the guy who does the acting.

Heh, I guess in reality both the stuntlady and Blanchet would be working together to depict The Boss.

I have to admit, if Tom Cruise ended up playing Snake...I wouldn't mind.

I'm surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet, even if he doesn't exactly LOOK like Snake. Back in 24's heyday, there seemed to be Jack Bauer/Snake comparisons all over the internet.

I don't know where this dubbing in Hayter's voice idea came from but it's terrible. He doesn't need to sound like the Snake in the games.
